The School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, proudly congratulates Ms. Sornsiri Khamkham, a student in the Bachelor of Economics Program, on receiving the Second Prize in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Management Category of the Outstanding Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) Award for the 2025 Academic Year, presented by the University of Phayao.
The award-winning project, entitled "Economic Feasibility Analysis of the Barrier-Free Toll Collection System: A Case Study of Motorway Route No. 9," was conducted during her cooperative education placement at the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) under the academic supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Warunya Chaitarin, a lecturer in the Bachelor of Economics Program, School of Business and Communication Arts.
The project examined the economic feasibility of implementing the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) toll collection system on Thailand's motorway network. Using the Cost–Benefit Analysis (CBA) framework, the study assessed the economic viability of the proposed investment and its potential impacts on transportation efficiency, including reduced travel time, lower operating costs, improved toll collection efficiency, and the enhancement of the country's transportation infrastructure to support sustainable development.
This achievement reflects the student's ability to effectively integrate economic knowledge with practical experience through the Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) program. It also demonstrates her competencies in analytical thinking, research, and the application of economic tools to address public policy issues and contribute to national development.
